A plug-in cooking surface rather than a built-in one: a single 2000 W infrared zone in a slim glass-topped body that sits on a worktop and runs off an ordinary socket. Infrared rather than induction is the distinction that matters when buying for a mixed kitchen - the element heats the pan by radiant heat, so it works under aluminium, copper, glass and ceramic as readily as under steel, and nobody has to check the base of a pot before they cook. Six presets cover braising, stir-frying, deep frying, boiling, soup and keep-warm, and ten power levels sit under them for anything the presets do not cover. A child lock is fitted. It is a serviced-apartment, staff-accommodation and small-office line more than a domestic one, and it is also what a kitchen falls back on when the main hob is out.
